About

PR girl by day, writer by night...

That's me in a nutshell. When I'm not type-type-typing away on a story, I'm in the office 5 days a week, working in the wonderful world of corporate communications.* I graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL back in '09, and now live in NYC.

But enough with the standard bio stuff-- let's get to the good part.

Paladin began in October 2011 when I felt the urge to write something creative. Something fun. Something just for me. I didn't have any grand plans for whatever would emerge from this little project. I just wanted to write.

I discovered Wattpad -- an online community where authors can share their stories, and readers can read 'em -- and started posting chapters to the website. Miraculously, I gained a following of loyal readers, who encouraged me to keep writing and posting until I'd written far more story than I ever anticipated. After a few stops and starts, I finished the entire novel, clocking in at over 100,000 words. Yowza.

Today, Paladin has more than 5.9 million reads on Wattpad and around 96,000 individual votes. When I say my readers are the best, I mean it. And they're a big part of the reason I've decided to explore the world of traditional publishing. This blog, among other things, will explore my journey to get Paladin published. Hopefully this story will have a happy ending.

*Not sarcasm. I love my job.
